## How to Promote Domains

**The Key Question**&#x20;

Before you promote a domain, ask yourself: "Do I know someone who needs this domain?"&#x20;

This is the most important question in Name.art. The members who earn consistently are not the ones who hold the most tokens — they're the ones who can identify a specific person, organization, or community that would benefit from a domain and make that introduction happen.<br>

1. **Use the Built-In Share Buttons** \
   The fastest way to get started is to use the share buttons built into your Portfolio tab. For every domain you hold a token for, you can post directly to Facebook or X in one click — no copying links, no switching between apps. \
   \
   This is designed to remove friction between deciding to promote and actually doing it. Use it to get the word out quickly, then follow up with more targeted outreach.<br>
2. **Reach Out Directly** \
   A personal message to the right person will always outperform a public post. If you know someone who would genuinely benefit from a domain, reach out directly. \
   \
   Keep the message short and focused on the value to them: \
   \
   • Mention the domain name and why you thought of them specifically \
   • Explain that it's a premium .ART domain currently available through any major registrar \
   • Make it easy to act: share where they can register it (any registrar works — GoDaddy, Namecheap, Get.art, or others)<br>
3. **Post in Relevant Communities** \
   Beyond your personal network, there are online communities where the right buyer might already be. Consider: \
   \
   • LinkedIn groups in the relevant industry or niche \
   • Facebook communities for artists, creative businesses, or the domain's subject matter \
   • Industry forums, newsletters, or online events<br>
4. **Follow Up**&#x20;

   One message or post is rarely enough. If you've reached out to someone who showed interest, follow up. If you've posted on social media, post again after a few days with a different angle. \
   \
   Your token is active for 6 months. You have time to build momentum — but don't leave it all to the last week.<br>
5. **Use Category Browsing to Find Promotable Domains** \
   If you're not sure which domains to back, use the category filter on the Available Names page to browse by industry. Choosing domains in categories where you have genuine connections gives you a much better chance of making a successful match.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.name.art/how-to-promote-domains.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
